LANSING, Mich. - State Representative Dudley Spade (D-Tipton)
today announced that Mitsui Chemical, which owns and operates Anderson Development and is one of the world's largest
producers of chemical products, will be consolidating production at its Adrian facility this summer. The consolidation
will generate approximately $6 million in investment and move jobs from the company's Indiana plant.
"This is great news, both for Lenawee County and for Michigan," Spade said. "This consolidation solidifies Mitsui's commitment to creating jobs here in Michigan and provides stability for Anderson Development's current employees. I want to commend Mitsui Chemical on a wise decision and I want to applaud the Governor's leadership and her work during this very successful trade mission to Japan. Her efforts have not only brought 249 jobs and $51 million in investment from eight companies into Michigan, but they are having a direct positive effect in Lenawee County and ensuring a future for Anderson Development."
