LANSING — State Representative Dudley Spade (D-Tipton) today announced five different Lenawee County organizations have been awarded a total of $45,500 in Arts and Cultural Grants from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The Tecumseh Civic Auditorium, Croswell Opera House & Fine Arts Association, Leh-Nah-Weh Native American Organization, Lenawee Symphony Orchestra Society, and River Raisin Ragtime Review were all awarded grant money when the MCACA met on Wednesday, September 20, to review and determine awards under the program for fiscal year 2007.
"These organizations enrich our community and show that Lenawee County offers a variety of arts and cultural opportunities to its residents," Spade said. "The hard work, commitment, and dedication of these outstanding groups provide an important link to music, culture, and the arts, enriching the lives of the young and old alike. This is an investment in Lenawee County that will help attract new residents and continue to make our community a great place to live, work, and raise a family."
